Since the valley was first discovered in 1741 by two British explorers William Windham and Richard Pocock, the valley has become legendary for alpine adventure and enjoyment. Chamonix hosted the world’s first ever Winter Olympic Games in 1924 and has remained famous for exceptional skiing, and facilities to suit all types of visitors. Home to Europe’s tallest mountain, Mont Blanc, (4810m) Chamonix is located on the French/Italian border, just 55mins drive from Geneva airport.
